Cosmonauts found new cracks in Russian segment of ISS

Cosmonauts found new non-separation cracks in the Russian segment of the International Space Station, they appeared on the oldest, the first of the commissioned “Zarya” module. This was announced by the General Designer of the Rocket and Space Corporation (RKK) “Energy”, the head of the flight of the Russian segment of the ISS, twice the Hero of the USSR Vladimir Soloviev, reports RIA Novosti.

“Several such places with non-serrated cracks are found in the” Zarya “module,” said Solovyov and added that he did not like the current situation.

The General Designer noted that through cracks were already found in the module, it did not rule out that over time, no-through damage will also be crammed.

The hole in the ISS case was formed at the end of December 2020. Air leakage in the Russian module at the station was discovered in September. In March, the Russian module “Star” recorded the continuation of air leakage after the sealing of two cracks. In 11 and a half hours, the pressure in the chamber decreased by 52 millimeters.

March 10 reported that the ISS found a new crack. Cosmonaut Sergey Ryzhikov inflicted the second layer of sealant on her. At the same time, it was located near the pipeline of the thermal regime system.
