European Union responded to question of mutual recognition of COVID certificates with Russia

The European Union (EU) responded to the question of mutual recognition of COVID certificates with Russia and stated that it was not intended to run negotiations on this topic. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the representative of the European Commission.

According to him, Russia has already received all the necessary technical information about the EU COVID certificate. The representative of the association noted that many states became interested in the European digital certificate. “The general and technical information about the certificate is transferred through the EU representative offices in many third countries. Russia is included in the list of such countries. There are no negotiations, we are still talking about the first general and technical information that was sent,” said in the European Commission.

In the beginning of August, the EC recognized COVID certificates of countries using the Russian Satellite Vaccine. “On August 2, the European Commission approved decisions that COVID certificates issued in Vatican and San Marino are equivalent to the European digital COVID certificate,” the executive body statements said.

In Russia, the question of the recognition of certificates was called “overwhelming.” However, positively appreciated the approval of certificates in countries purchasing “satellite V”.
