Condolences in connection with death of head of department of Center for Training of Cosmonauts Alexander Soloviev

On September 8, 2021, the head of the department (Senior Diving Specialist) of the Center for Training Center, Alexander Sergeevich Soloviev, tragically died in the 59th of his life.

Alexander Sergeevich was born on May 14, 1963 in the city of Dzhanka Crimean Region. In 1989 he graduated from Sevastopol Higher Naval Engineering School in the specialty “Energy Settings”. From 1998 to 2009, he served in 179 Rescue Center for EMERCOM of Russia in various positions. He graduated from the service as a senior teacher of diving rescuers, in the rank of “Lieutenant Colonel”.

In 2010, Alexander Sergeevich was adopted in the center of training cosmonauts named after Yu.A. Gagarin to the position of head of the department (senior diving specialist) in the engineering and technical and diving department of training and testing in hydrosers and a diving barocamera, special diving space training, scientific and technical support of the creation, tests and operation of complexes, systems and technological equipment of the hydrolaboratories.

led the special diving training of astronauts, the staff of the center and specialists of third-party organizations. He took direct participation in the training of astronauts to work in open space. During the work in the center, he trained the diving profession more than 50 employees of the center and third-party organizations. Alexander Sergeevich had a workshop under water in various types of diving equipment about 4,000 hours, of which 1910 hours at the center of the training center.

Alexander Sergeevich was a mentor for youth, which was respected, appreciated and loved. Military hardening and the desire to perform high-level tasks helped him in solving the tasks. His excellent personal qualities: purposefulness, exceptional hardworking, professional skill, love for the diving case, optimism, sensitivity, goodwill and life-deserved authority from astronauts, employees of the Center and Specialists of third-party organizations.

Alexander Sergeevich was a man of exceptional decency, kindness and deep erudition. He made a great contribution to providing the training of astronauts to work in open space.

The bright memory of Alexander Sergeevich will forever remain in the hearts of his friends, employees and work comrades.
