Japan made it for creating conditions for signing a peace treaty with Russia

Tokyo advocates the creation of the necessary conditions for the conclusion of a peace treaty with Moscow. This was stated by the Japanese Foreign Minister Tosimitsa Motagi, reports TASS.

Diplomat indicated that the Japanese side was configured to continue constructive discussion from the Russian Federation of joint activities in this direction. “Together with this discussion, we also intend to promote the creation of an atmosphere for signing a peace treaty,” he said.

Earlier, Motagi appreciated the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the introduction of a special tax regime on the Kuril Islands. He noted that the new taxation system in Kurilch should not violate the legislation of both countries.

On September 3, Putin announced that a new preferential mode for business will be created on the Kuril Islands. According to politics, it will include a complete cancellation of taxes on income, property and land for ten years.

Moscow and Tokyo cannot sign a peace treaty on the results of the Second World War due to the territorial dispute around the southern part of Kuril. Japan considers the Islands of ITUURUP, Kunashir, Shikotan and a group of Habmioma Islands with its “northern territories”. Moscow does not recognize the very fact of the territorial dispute.
