US: it was threatened to disrupt deadlines for state subsections due to “Northern Flood-2”

Senators from the Republican Party of the United States threatened to disrupt the appointments in the leadership of the US Department of Finance, if the Presidential Administration Joe Bayiden does not impose sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 AG gas pipeline operator. It is reported by Wall Street Journal.

It is about the appointment of candidates for posts of managers responsible for sanctions and financing antiterrorist activities. Republicans Pat Tumi (Pennsylvania) and Ted Cruz (Texas) wrote a Bidenu official letter, where they are stated that they intend to vote against allegations of candidates until the administration enters the sanctions against the operator.

“We hope that the president will follow the law and introduces sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG as soon as possible, calculating the path for the approval of candidates,” the letter says.

Previously, the Senior Energy Security Advisor to the US State Department Amos Khokhshshin stated that States intend to continue the fight against the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. Khokhstin called the pipeline with a dangerous geopolitical project and stressed that he has nothing to do with gas supplies.
