Cameroon: four men sentenced to death penalty for murder of schoolchildren

The Military Tribunal in Cameroon sentenced four people who were convicted of the murder of seven school students in the city of Kumba. It is reported by the local Journal du Cameroun.

On October 24, 2020, the criminals broke into a private educational institution on three motorcycles and opened shooting. As a result, the attack killed seven schoolchildren, 13 children received serious injuries.

attackers soon arrested, but some of them were subsequently released on bail. In addition to accusations of intentional murder, men presented charges in terrorist activities, an attempt to be insolent and illegal weapons. The court gave them ten days to appeal the decision.

Earlier it was reported that the US Supreme Court suspended the death penalty from Texas John Henry Ramirez, who demanded that the confessor kept him at the time of the execution of the sentence. The convict said that the US laws that prohibit the priests to touch the prisoners during the execution, violate his right to freedom of religious beliefs.
