In Kazakhstan, they talked about “cave nationalism” of participants of “language patrols”

Participants and organizers of the “Language Patrols” are no more than “cave nationalists”, the actions of which must be strictly stopped at the state level. Such a statement was made by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan Dauren Abaev, TASS reports.

The reason for the scandal has become published on the video recordings on which the Kazakhs are conducted by “language patrols” in stores and government agencies. Nationalists check whether labels are translated in the stores to Kazakh, whether sellers and civil servants communicate on it. During raids, young people call Russian residents “Gastarbaters” and force to apologize to the camera, in particular, for the words about the role of Russia in the formation of Kazakh statehood.

Such behavior of Abaev considered outrageous and condemned the action of nationalists. He stressed that their actions will soon receive a “fair assessment of” law enforcement agencies. “Not because the Russian deputies were indignant, but because in our country, in principle, such things are rigidly supplemented regardless of who have been discriminated against,” the official said.

At the same time, he refused to consider such incidents with a public trend and systemic oppression of non-peoples. “In our country, our Russian language owns almost 90 percent of the population, it is one of the highest rates in the world. We have more than 30 percent of schoolchildren study in Russian,” said the representative of the administration.

He also recalled that the Russians make up 20 percent of the population of Kazakhstan, and about 23 thousand Russian language and literature teachers work in the country. “This is more than in any other country of Central Asia. Therefore, to talk about the infringement of the Russian language in Kazakhstan, at least unfair,” the Abaev concluded.

Previously, the organizer of the nationalist shares of Til Maydani (“Wave of the Language”) and “Language Patrols” in Kazakhstan, Kuat Akhmetov stated that the Russians suffer from “Ravzhan’s Syndrome and Jamshut” and accused them of arrogance. “You come here to Kazakhstan, and also such hate – I do not know, from where,” he said.
