NATO will revise the strategic concept in order to respond to Russia’s actions and challenges from China. This was reported in the White House, RIA Novosti reports.
“Allies will agree to revise the Strategic Concept of NATO, the foundation that will determine the approach of the North Atlantic Alliance to the changing strategic environment,” the statement said. This environment includes the “aggressive policy and actions of Russia”, as well as “challenges that the Chinese People’s Republic of China”.
The document notes that the new concept will be prepared for adoption at NATO summit in 2022. The statement itself was published on the eve of the NATO summit, which will be held on June 14 in Brussels.
