The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharov reproached the UK in the “plantation of censorship”, which is accompanied by accusations against Moscow. She wrote about this in its Telegram Channel.
So the diplomat commented on the bill “On Security Online”, which the British government published in May – he regulates the work of the media on the Internet.
“British power protects first of all himself. Scared of those powers who received online giants, who seemed to see what #cancelculture of a global scale, the old institutes were fixed and decided to try to return to themselves a long-lost monopoly on the formation of meanings in the heads of their subjects “,” said Zakharov.
she added that, although such a bill can be equated to censorship, London still does not recognize this and, on the contrary, regularly accuses Moscow in such actions. The representative of the Foreign Ministry is convinced that the British authorities are only covered by democratic values, although in fact “will be brought in all areas of law to maintain an eluding thread of the control of opinions.”
Great Britain has repeatedly made the accusations against Russia, which concerned censorship on the Internet and technologies in general. Zakharova also reminded of numerous accusations of cyber attacks: for example, June 11, London stated that Moscow contributes to such attacks. The head of the British Foreign Ministry Dominic Raab called on a “big seven” to unanimously oppose such acts.
Russia denies these accusations.
