WTO called on Russia to increase vaccine supplies from Covid-19

The General Director of the World Trade Organization (WTO) of NGOs Ocejo-Iveala called on Russia to consider the possibility of increasing vaccine supplies from coronavirus. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

With a similar request, the Director-General of the WTO appealed to China, Brazil and Cuba, which, like Russia, is already developing their own drugs and share them with other states. She also noted that those who still need to obtain the permission of the World Health Organization (WHO) should be done to ensure access to vaccines. At the same time, the 11th-Iveala has emphasized that it is necessary to increase the existing drug production capacity.

Earlier, the head of the WTO stated that the United Kingdom should immediately give their vaccines from coronavirus to poor countries. “I don’t think that the appearance of surplus and the moment that all [British] will receive a vaccine,” the Odejo-Iveala noted. According to her, such a tactic will be responsible for the interests of both poor and rich countries.
