German deputies became victims of “Hackers from GRU”

Deputies of the Bundestag (German Federal Parliament, – approx. “Trent.ru”) and local parliaments were subjected to cyberats. According to German special services, Russian intelligence may be behind hacking, writes Spiegel.

Hacked tried personal email at least seven federal deputies and 31 parliamentarians from land legislative bodies. It is assumed that we are talking about a group of hackers Ghostwriter, allegedly associated with Russian special services GRU.

It is known that hackers used phishing letters. Whether they managed to achieve information leakage – not reported. The attack was subjected to policies from parties belonging to the ruling coalition. Also, the attack affected the political activists from Hamburg and Bremen.

In February, the head of the General Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands (Aivd) Eric Aerb spoke about catching hackers from Russia and China: According to him, they are daily threatening the security of the country, its infrastructure and business.
