The Ministry of Agriculture will control sugar supplies. Each plant will give a certain quota for the production and sale of sugar retailers, according to the newspaper Izvestia.
It is explained that the enterprises will only make the volume of products that the Ministry of Agriculture established specifically for them will be made every month. This figure was formed, based on two defining factors: the needs of the region and the volume of production, which the plants produced before the introduction of standards.
According to the interlocutor of the publication, difficulties in this situation are, first of all, in the fact that enterprises never worked according to such a scheme. In addition, the factors that companies cannot control are often influenced. For example, difficulties with raw materials.
The head of the Institute of Agrarian Markets Conditions, Dmitry Rylko explained that the new system should help the government bring subsidies to manufacturers. That is, thanks to participation in the supply, the Ministry of Agriculture will be known information about sales of goods at a fixed price, and therefore the department will know the recipients of subsidies.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia (Sultuzzhahar) Andrei Bodin stated that Russian trading networks want to buy a sugar of the future and thereby create an unreasonable excitement. He also noted that statements about violation of sugar supply from manufacturers do not correspond to reality.
Sugar production in Russia in January-February 2021 fell 2.4 times compared with the indicator for the same period of 2020.
