Russia threatened to respond to rocket threats from West

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia threatened to respond to rocket threats from the West. The appropriate statement is published on the Office website.

They said that in recent weeks, the Pentagon announced a number of steps to develop and deploy weapons, which were previously prohibited by the Agreement on the Elimination of Middle and Less Range Racks (DRSMD), Torning Washington in 2019. To this end, special operational groups will be created, which are planned to be placed in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe – including, for considerations of preparations for a potential conflict with Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the British military was also reported to modernize weapons, which can be used to defeat anti-air defense systems (air defense).

The ministry believe that such programs can lead to a “serious exacerbation in the rocket sphere”. “We do not slaughte the door for the dialogue, but in the emerging conditions, we do not exclude that Russia will be forced to more and more shift the focus of efforts to implement military-technical response measures to emerging rocket threats,” is emphasized in the application.

The action of a missile agreement on the elimination of rockets of medium and less distance (DRSMD) was officially discontinued on August 2, 2019. Washington broke the agreement from 1987 allegedly due to violations of its conditions by the Russian side. Moscow denies all the charges.
