The Chinese economy needs an increase in the supply of natural gas from Russia, Gazprom wants to satisfy growing demand. This TASS told the chairman of the Board of Directors of the company Viktor Zubkov.
PRC every two years increases consumption on the volume comparable to the entire export capacity of Siberia forces, which is 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year, tagged. He added that China is the largest gas importer and the third consumer of this energy carrier in the world (after the United States and Russia).
Zubkov considers the PRC market promising and predicts that gas consumption in the country in the next 15 years can double compared with the current level. Even in a pandemic, this figure has grown (by 20 billion cubic meters).
Previously, Gazprom approved a technical and economic analysis of the project for the construction of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline through Mongolia to China. It will be the continuation of the Power Siberian-2 gas pipeline. The project “Gas pipeline Union of East” is responsible for the project, which was established in Mongolia. Construction began in the fall last year. The head of Gazprom Alexei Miller in January assured the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the effectiveness of “Siberi-2 forces”.
