The jury in the Court of Minneapolis recognized the former police officer sovina guilty of the murder of George Floyd. Sheovin is found guilty of all three points of murder, he faces up to 40 years in prison. It is expected that the sentence will be announced in about eight weeks.
46-year-old African American George Floyd was arrested on May 25, 2020 near the grocery store in Minneapolis. It is argued that he allegedly paid a fake check. Law enforcement officers dragged him out of the car and laid on asphalt. Sovovin rudely pressed Floyd knee, and he, without resisting, began to complain about the fact that he had nothing to breathe. Soon the arrested died. Four policemen after what happened was fired. On April 9, 2021, during the court proceedings, the pulmonologist Martin Tobin confirmed that death was caused by the actions of Sovina.
The police have become the cause of mass pogroms in the United States in the summer of 2020. The protesters accused the death of Floyd police officers, and also declared an unfair attitude to black in the country.
