The number of executions in the world in 2020 has reached a minimum over the past ten years. This is stated in the report of the organization Amnesty International, reports TASS.
According to the document, at least 483 people were executed last year. At the same time, 657 such cases was reported earlier. In record 2015, 1634 executions were recorded. It is noted that the minimum number of executions over the past ten years is due primarily to a decrease of 85 percent of the number of death sentences in Saudi Arabia, as well as a reduction in this indicator in Iraq.
