Cosmonaut doubted Leonov version of causes of Gagarin’s death

Pilot-cosmonaut Boris Volynoves doubted the cosmonaut version of Alexander Leonov about the causes of the death of the first person who was flying into space, Yuri Gagarin. Twice the Hero of the Soviet Union, the last now living term of the first cosmonaut detachment told in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

According to him, the version of the first person who came into open space that the Gagarin plane crashed because of the careless maneuver of the Su-15 fighter, which was unauthorized in the area of the training flight, implausible.

Volynov said that one day on television pilot test Stepan Mikoyan also put the version of Leonov’s question. So, Leonov argued that he knew the name of the 90-year pilot, allegedly responsible for the crash of the aircraft with Gagarin. Mikoyan, in turn, explained that he also knew all the testes, and could not be any of them next to the scene of the incident. He also added that she conducted an experiment in which supersonic fighters flew around MiG-15Uty, but this did not lead to any emergency situations.

Previously, Volyn revealed his version of the death of Yuri Gagarin. According to him, it is not possible to know exactly what happened that day. However, probably the cause of the tragedy could be the collision of the Gagarin aircraft with meteosond.

Yuri Gagarin died on March 27, 1968 during the MiG-15UTI Training Flight in the Vladimir Region. The exact cause of the occurrence is not installed.
