Russian Private Company “Cosmokurs”, which was planning to create the first private cosmodrome in Russia and a reusable subborobital complex for space tourism in the Nizhny Novgorod region, closes. This was announced by the general director of the company Pavel Pushkin, RIA Novosti reports.
As Pushkin explained, the reason for the closure became irresistible difficulties with the coordination of the requirements for the project of a cosmodrome with local authorities. Another factor was the impossibility of obtaining the necessary regulatory documentation from the Ministry of Defense for the design of the Supportal Tourist Rocket.
The general director added that employees have already announced a reduction. At the moment, 50 constructors of rocket and space technology works in the “Cosmokurce”.
Cosmokurs company was created to develop tourist subborital flights into space. She received a license “Roskosmos” on activities in this area, and also declared plans to create a cosmodrome near Nizhny Novgorod.
