Gas transit to Kazakhstan stopped after explosion on gas pipeline in Orenburg region

Gas transit to Kazakhstan was stopped after an explosion at the Soyuz gas pipeline section in the Orenburg region. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Energy in its Telegram channel.

“Reason: damage to the gas pipeline at the 108th kilometer of the Soyuz gas pipeline with a diameter of 1400 with gas ignition”, – specified in the message.

Gas is supplied to consumers from a cylinder on the Orenburg-Novopskov gas pipeline, the Ministry of Energy added.

The explosion on the gas pipeline in the Ilek district of the Orenburg region became known earlier on February 23, the message about the incident was received by the Emergencies Ministry at 10:40. The main gas pipeline to which the site belongs is intended, among other things, to supply the Ilek region, part of the Orenburg region, part of the Sol-Iletsk region.

According to the department, no one was injured or killed. The area where the explosion occurred is located far from settlements.
