Maintaining diplomatic relations with Russia is very important in all situations, said Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.
“Including [maintaining a dialogue] on very complex topics, as, for example, Finland and Russia do. I think that the same should happen between the EU and Russia,” the minister said. According to him, a break in relations between Russia and Finland would be a negative turn.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a telephone conversation with Haavisto, said that NATO’s activities in the Baltic region are destructive.
