Those who compare the Russian Ministry of Finance with the accounting department, and its head with an accountant, are mistaken. This was stated by the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov in an interview for the documentary serial film “The Fortress”, reports TASS.
According to him, the Ministry of Finance is a department that deals not only with financial policy, but also economic, because it is in charge of the balance of budgets, financial markets, tax policy, inter-budgetary interaction.
Thus, Siluanov responded to criticism of the activities of the department headed by him for nine years. He is called an “accountant” for his unwillingness to spend funds on national projects and distribute them to the population. In particular, in October last year in the “Party of Pensioners”, commenting on Siluanov’s position on the indexation of pensions for non-working pensioners, they said that he “considers the situation from the position of an accountant: somewhere there is not enough money, from there he took it – here he gave it.” >
