United States called condition of return to nuclear deal with Iran

US State Department spokesman Ned Price called the condition for a return to the nuclear deal with Iran. RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, the American side has not yet contacted Tehran after the inauguration of US President Joe Biden. He noted that this is unlikely to happen until the United States consults with allies.

At the same time, Price stressed that Washington is ready for a mutual return to compliance with the agreements with Tehran. “We will use this as a platform for a longer and lasting agreement and to address other aspects,” he added.

In January 2020, Iran announced its rejection of the agreements on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) for its nuclear program. In early May 2018, former US President Donald Trump announced Washington’s unilateral withdrawal from the deal and the resumption of anti-Iranian sanctions.

The JCPOA Treaty on Iran was signed in the summer of 2015 between Tehran and six intermediary countries – Russia, the United States, Great Britain, China, France, Germany.
