Military who seized power in Myanmar banned air travel

The military, who seized power in Myanmar, issued a decree providing for the introduction of a ban on external, internal and official air travel in the country until May 31 of this year. This was reported by the local edition of The Myanmar Times with reference to a government document.

It is reported that foreign embassies in the country received other information: they informed their employees that flights will be banned until the end of April. It is known that more than 70 Russians are currently in Myanmar.

Prior to that, it became known about the dissolution of the government and the arrest of Myanmar President Vin Myin, as well as the head of the country’s ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) party, Aung San Suu Kyi, who holds the post of State Counselor and Foreign Minister.

The NLD said that the army had organized a coup d’état and demanded that all detainees be released immediately. In the capital of the country, Naypyidaw, telephone and internet connections are unavailable. Military men have been spotted in large cities, residents are massively withdrawing cash from cards and buying food.
