PlayStation 5 will be back on sale

The shortage for new generation set-top boxes and video cards should end in the second half of 2021. This is stated in the report of the head of AMD Lisa Su (Lisa Su), according to the publication GameSpot.

Summing up the results of the next quarter, Lisa Su noticed that AMD broke its previous records in terms of revenue and showed good results in the fourth quarter of the year. Soo explained that this was in part due to the high workload of the enterprise, which fulfills orders for the supply of processors for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles, as well as the RX 6000 graphics cards.

At the same time, the top manager outlined plans in the future to meet the demand of equipment customers. The entrepreneur clarified that due to the fact that production does not keep up with demand, the deficit for gaming products will last at least until the middle of the year. In the second half of the year, as AMD ramps up production capacity, next-gen consoles and graphics cards will be back on sale.

Lisa Su also predicted that, due to huge demand, the most severe shortages would be in components for low-cost computers. More expensive components will be available sooner.

Sony previously announced that a new batch of PS5 consoles will appear in Russia in February. According to the company, the set-top box can be purchased at the moment only by pre-order. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles went on sale in November 2020 and were almost immediately in short supply due to increased demand.
