Residents of a Russian village who were held hostage by bank were forgiven their debts

Russians from the village of Bolshoy Ului (Krasnoyarsk Territory), who were held hostage by the bank because of loans taken by mistake, were forgiven their debts. As reported to “Lente.ru” in the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), the claim work and the presentation of writs of execution against the villagers has been suspended.

“In the course of work on the liquidation of the bank, the Deposit Insurance Agency revealed signs of theft of the bank’s property under the guise of issuing fictitious loans to a significant number of individuals. In this regard, from January 11, 2021, the Agency suspended claims and the presentation of writs of execution against individuals whose the data were used to steal these funds, including with respect to citizens living in the village of Bolshoy Ului (Krasnoyarsk Territory), “the agency said. They also added that on the fact of what happened, as well as on the facts of the premeditated bankruptcy of the bank, statements have already been prepared to law enforcement agencies.

Earlier it was reported that about 200 people were held hostage by a financial organization because of loans taken by mistake, which they described as financial assistance. This affected local residents, who issued “financial aid from the plant” for 10 thousand rubles: two years later they began to receive messages from the bank with demands to pay off the debt: in different cases from 350 thousand to one million rubles.

One of the suspects in the case was named a local resident Nina Vasilyeva, but she denies her connection with the scammers. A criminal case is currently being investigated.
