Procedure for vaccination of population against COVID-19 has been determined

American scientists from the University of Washington in St. Louis and the University George Mason statistical study and found out which population group should be vaccinated against COVID-19 first. They write about it Izvestia .

Experts have determined the vaccination procedure based on the fact that in the next two months, 60 million doses of the vaccine with 50% effectiveness will be produced.

As a result, scientists came to the conclusion that it is necessary to vaccinate people aged 50-59 first. Then people 60-69 years old should receive the vaccine. If this population group is to be quarantined, they should be replaced by representatives of the 30-39 age group.

Also, the authors of the study stated that it is necessary to vaccinate health workers, the level of coronavirus infection among which exceeds 15 cases per 100 thousand people, from the age of 40. Bus drivers, school teachers and shop assistants should be vaccinated at age 50, and administrative and financial sector workers at age 60 or even 70.

In early December, the Director of the Emergencies Program World Health Organization (WHO) Michael Ryan stated that the vaccine against the new coronavirus may not give the vaccinated person a lifetime protection. However, he noted that vaccination is an important tool in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
