Tikhanovskaya explained transition to “partisanship” in Belarus

The leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya told that Belarusians will not stop street protests. She stated this during a conversation with the Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander de Croo, reports RIA Novosti .

According to her, the inhabitants of Belarus will switch to new forms of peaceful protest, including “partisanship”. Tikhanovskaya called on European Union (EU) to help Belarusians. The politician stressed that lately the European Union has been making a lot of promises, but she would like to see concrete actions.

Earlier Tikhanovskaya urged European Parliament to show” zero tolerance “towards representatives of the current authorities of Belarus. She came up with an initiative to cancel Schengen and national visas of EU countries for citizens of Belarus.

On November 6, the EU imposed sanctions directly against President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and more 14 Belarusian officials. Their assets are frozen, they were banned from entering the European Union. In early October, the leaders of the EU countries imposed sanctions against 40 officials of the country, who, in their opinion, were involved in electoral fraud and human rights violations.
