Paralysis Recorded After US Coronavirus Vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said four volunteers who received the American coronavirus vaccine Pfizer , Bell’s palsy developed. With this disorder, there is a temporary inoperability of the facial nerve. This is reported on the organization’s website.

Experts note that it is not clear how the vaccine could cause nerve dysfunction. Paralysis occurs when the nerve that controls the muscles in the face becomes inflamed, swollen, or compressed. The side effect is not serious and disappears after a while. There is also no evidence that the vaccine caused the paralysis. Although Bell’s palsy was observed in four people in the vaccine group, the difference with the control group is not significant.

Testing was carried out on 38 thousand volunteers. Among other side effects, scientists have recorded fever, fatigue, headache and muscle pain. Severe adverse reactions occurred in 0.0-4.6 percent of participants most often after the second dose of the vaccine and more often in younger adults.
