Weekend quarantine canceled in Ukraine

Government of Ukraine canceled the weekend quarantine. This was announced on December 2 by the Prime Minister Denis Shmygal , writes NV.

According to him, the weekend quarantine was in effect for three weeks and had a “positive effect.” Over the previous week, six thousand fewer infections were recorded than predicted. In addition, “there is a leveling out of the situation with the occupancy of beds.”

Earlier, the president Vladimir Zelensky said that restrictions on Saturday and Sunday helped stabilize the growth of infected. The Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov argued that the desired result had not been achieved, since the citizens did not observed the quarantine in full.

Restrictive measures over the weekend caused a negative reaction from representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.

Over the past day, 13,141 cases of coronavirus infection in Ukraine were confirmed, 169 people died, 13,882 recovered.
