Kolesnikova announced people’s revolution in Belarus

Member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council (CC) of the Belarusian opposition, coordinator of the electoral headquarters of the ex-head of Belgazprombank Victor Babariko Maria Kolesnikova , who has been under arrest for almost three months , announced the people’s revolution in the country. Through a lawyer, she answered the questions of the Dozhd TV channel.

When asked whether the Belarusian opposition made any mistakes, Kolesnikova said that she and her associates are not the opposition.

“The majority of Belarusians voted on August 9 for the candidate who personified changes. The revolution in Belarus is primarily a people’s revolution. People have united and are now taking more and more responsibility for the future of their country,” she said.

Kolesnikova also said that the protest in Belarus “will not disappear anywhere”, but, most likely, “will be transformed.” “The refusal to investigate crimes against civilians, the escalation of violence, murders – all this only reinforces the protest mood in society more thoroughly and deeper,” she is sure.

According to a member of the Presidium of the Constitutional Court, a crisis of confidence in the entire state system has arisen in the country, which is much more dangerous and more terrible than street protests.

Maria Kolesnikova was abducted by unknown persons on September 7. The next day, authorities said that she tried to leave the country, but was detained at the border with Ukraine. At the same time, Kolesnikova herself says that the security forces tried to take her out of Belarus, and she had to tear her passport in order to stay at home. The oppositionist was charged with calls for action aimed at harming national security.

Mass protests in Belarus began after the presidential elections on August 9. According to the CEC, Alexander Lukashenko , who ran for the sixth term, received 80 percent of the vote, and the main opposition candidate, the wife of the arrested blogger Svetlana Tikhanovskaya – 10 percent. p >
