A paid monument to Lenin was opened in Kiev

In Kiev, near the Pochaina metro station, unknown persons have opened a “paid” monument to Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin, reports UNIAN.

The pedestal reads: “Lenin Show Online”. The monument was tied with a yellow-blue flag. Unidentified persons attached several price plates near the monument. For a photo with Lenin, they ask 20 hryvnia, for a video – 50 hryvnia.

Soon, officers of the National Police of Ukraine arrived at the scene. They pointed to a violation of the improvement rules and demanded to dismantle the monument.

In July, in the village of Zheleznodorozhnoe, Odessa Region, a monument to Lenin was turned into a monument to the Bulgarian colonist. He was dressed in the national Bulgarian costume, and a vine was put in his hand.

In February it was reported that in Artsyz, Odessa region, local authorities officially renamed bust of Karl Marx. This is how a monument to the Bulgarian poet and national hero Hristo Botev appeared in the city.

Since May 2015, Ukraine has a law on decommunization. It provides for a ban on the use of Soviet symbols, condemnation of the communist regime of the USSR and the opening of the archives of Soviet special services available in the country. As part of the implementation of the law, cities, streets are renamed, monuments to Soviet leaders and leaders are dismantled.
