Apple will give up wires in iPhone

The next Apple smartphone will be released without physical connectors. This was stated in his YouTube blog by a well-known network insider Jon Prosser (Jon Prosser).

According to the blogger, in 2021 Apple will release a smartphone without any connectors to connect the charging wire. In this case, the company’s engineers will achieve a high degree of moisture protection for the smartphone and reduce the number of components in the device. Prosser believes the iPhone will only charge using the MagSafe wireless charger, which debuted with the iPhone 12 line.

John Prosser clarified that Apple will not completely abandon wires in new smartphones. According to him, the company will release one such device – most likely, it will be the top model of the series. In the next generations, Apple will completely switch to the production of smartphones without holes. An insider recalled that he predicted the rejection of the Lightning connector back in May.

According to the blogger, the transition to wireless iPhones will not be easy, as the new MagSafe Qi charger is not yet stable in operation. However, the author believes that in the long term, consumers will benefit from this transition, as they will save money on buying original charging cables.

Current Apple smartphones are equipped with a Lightning connector, which first appeared in devices in 2012, together with the release of iPhone 5. iPhone 12 series devices, introduced in mid-October now has support for MagSafe wireless booster charging. At the same time, new devices can be charged using a regular cable.
