A man found a wallet with money lost 25 years ago and returned it to its owner

A resident of the Australian state of New South Wales found a wallet with money lost 25 years ago on the beach. The 9News portal reports about it.

Joseph Bues was walking along the coast of Lennox Head village and accidentally noticed an old wallet in the sand. Inside were expired bank cards and five Australian dollars. Buse photographed the find and posted it on a local Facebook group.

” Paul Davis . Found your wallet on the beach. Unfortunately all credit cards are expired, but the five dollar bill may still come in handy. You could say 25 years ago you bought your future mug of coffee. Yehu! ” – wrote Buse, accompanying the post with a photo of the wallet.

Australian Jodie Davis stumbled upon the publication and realized that the wallet belongs to her husband’s cousin. She sent Paul Davis a screenshot of the ad. He confirmed that in 1994 he lost his wallet while celebrating New Years with friends in Lennox Head.

On Friday, November 20, Buse met with the wallet owner and returned his lost item. To thank Buses, Davis brought in a six-pack of beer, which they drank during the conversation.

Earlier it was reported that American Donna Brown acquired a wallet that was lost half a century ago while going to the cinema. In 2020, the owner of the cinema was renovating the building and discovered Brown’s wallet.
