KDL Laboratory Database Hacked: Hackers Take Tests

Hackers Breach KDL Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory

Today, hackers announced the hacking of the KDL clinical and diagnostic laboratory. As evidence of their actions, attackers released a 290 MB file with more than 151,000 records of customer calls. The data cover the period from October 2, 2021 to March 23, 2023.

In the opened database, personal information of KDL customers, including complete names, email addresses (more than 47,000 records) and contact numbers of phone numbers (over 51,000 records), as well as customer calls to the laboratory are stored.

At the moment, the reliability of the data is not confirmed. Although KDL has not yet officially confirmed the hack, in its Telegram channel on July 23, the company announced temporary failures in the system, which became unavailable for some customers’ services. Information about whether malfunctions are related to the alleged cyber attack, as well as more accurate details are expected in the next news.

Earlier, the Russian medical laboratory was subjected to a cyber attack, because of which customers could not get the results of their tests for several days. According to Helix, during the hacker attack, there was no leakage of personal data of customers. Only due to failures in the service of the service, the laboratory could not transfer the results of medical tests in time for everyone.
