Intel Releases Updated Version of One Mono Font for Developers
Intel, renowned for its contributions to open software development, has recently introduced the latest addition to its portfolio – the Intel One Mono font. Developed in partnership with Frere-Jones Type, the font is specifically designed to cater to the needs of developers. On August 21, Intel released an updated version, One Mono V1.3.
Description and Features of One Mono Font
One Mono is described as a monomeric font that provides readability and structured code. The creators of the font have focused on improving the distinction between similar symbols like “l”, “I”, and “1”. The font also includes enhanced characters, such as various brackets and more prominent rounded elements in letters like “d” and “b”. It is designed under the open license Sil Open Font License and offers four different thickness options – Light, Regular, Medium, and Bold – as well as support for italicized text and various Opentype functions.
Updates and Improvements in Version 1.3
With the release of One Mono V1.3, Intel has introduced several improvements to enhance usability and functionality:
  • Optimized support for languages using CCMP and MARK functions in the source code.
  • Introduced the CALT function to achieve vertical alignment of the colons with code operators.
  • Unified the font family name across all source files and license documentation to be Intel One Mono.
  • Enhanced the design of graphic elements and punctuation marks, such as hyphens and quotation marks.
  • Improved the synchronization of styles between source codes and compilations.
