“Farewell aaricia”: the return of the eternal thorgal


emblematic character of Franco-Belgian BD, created in 1977 by Jean Van Hamme and Grzegorz Rosinski, the Viking Thorgal offers itself a new collection, where authors will each come to tell a different episode from the life of “the child of the stars”. Signed Robin Recht, the first opus goes beyond the marketing blow that could be feared.

We discover the aged hero, perclus of osteoarthritis and the short breath. Destroyed by the death of his wife Aaricia, who has accompanied him since childhood, Thorgal lets himself be seduced by the Nidhogg serpent, an evil character of Nordic mythology, which offers to go back in time to find his loved one. But the past does not resemble the one that the old man has known. Pan, a young mechanic, will engage alongside women who infiltrate these tournaments to restore their freedom to these trophies. This endearing series for adolescents and young adults addresses the themes of patriarchy, homosexuality and the construction of its identity without leaving the action and the fighting out. P. Cr.

“Chevrotine”: crazy, poetic, fierce

devouring men, literally and figuratively, Chevrotine lives in a cabin in the company of a dog gifted with speech and half a dozen children, different fathers, At the heart of a magical universe populated by giant butterflies serving as a household, except when fresh meat is knocking on the door. Leaving to investigate the mysterious disappearances that defyed the local chronicle, a hitman disturbs this poetic and fierce ecosystem, out of the fruitful imagination of Pierrick Starsky.
