To review developers of Linux nucleus, new XE driver for GPU Intel is proposed

Engineers from Intel xe designed for use with GPU based on the Intel XE architecture, Which is used in video cards of the ARC family and integrated graphics, starting with Tiger Lake processors. The XE driver is positioned as the basis for supporting new chips, not tied to a code to support old platforms. Patches are not yet ready to include the nucleus and are published for discussion and reviewing by developers who are not related to Intel.

The driver was built using the new architecture in which
The existing components of the DRM (Direct Rendering Manager) subsystems are more actively used, as well as the typical components of the I915 driver that are not tied to specific GPU, for example, the code for interacting with the screens, the memory model and the implementation of Execbuf. In the drivers of XE and I915 it is planned to ensure the joint use of the common code to avoid duplication of typical components. In Mesa, the Opengl and Vulkan work on top of the XE driver is implemented at the level of changes made to the existing IRIS and Anv Mesa Directs.
