Available release of a program for testing RAM Memtest86+ 9.0. The program is not tied to operating systems and can be launched directly from the BIOS/UEFI firmware or from the bootloader to conduct a full check of RAM. If problems are identified, the map of bad memory areas built in Memtest86+ can be used in the Linux kernel to eliminate problem areas using the memmap option. The project code is distributed under the GPLv2 license.
Main innovations:
- Added support for the AArch64 (ARM64) architecture. The work was tested on Raspberry Pi 4/5 and Snapdragon X boards.
- The function of saving the report on a USB drive formatted with FAT32 file system has been implemented.
- The set of tests has been redesigned, to which optimizations have been added to reduce the time to identify the first failure.
- Tests have been added that use 128- and 256-bit SIMD vector instructions (SSE2/AVX2/NEON/LASX).
- Added a new bus stress test required for DDR5 memory.
- Added an optional test to check memory susceptibility to the RowHammer attack (corruption of the contents of individual DRAM memory bits by cyclically reading data from adjacent memory cells).
- Added test to determine data corruption SPD (Serial Presence Detect).
- The displayed memory information has been expanded.
- Detection of more than 100 new types of DRAM memory has been implemented.
- Support for the Intel Wildcat Lake platform has been added.
- Authorization with its own digital signature has been provided for loading into Secure Boot mode (expected to be certified by Microsoft in the future).
