Launchpad Service Modernization: Preliminary Results

Canonical has announced an initiative to modernize the Launchpad service, which is used in the Ubuntu development process for various purposes such as code collaboration, bug tracking, reviewing changes, and building and deploying packages. The first step in this modernization effort involves getting rid of the outdated interface on summary pages that provide information about Ubuntu releases.

For instance, on the Ubuntu 26.04 page on Launchpad, users will be able to track the presence of known problems, monitor the progress of bug fixes, and access information about recently released updates as well as upcoming ones. Similarly, on the Ubuntu 26.10 page, users can evaluate the development progress of the upcoming release.
