The release of the free content management system Joomla 6.1 has taken place. Joomla provides features such as tools for managing users and media files, support for creating multilingual page variants, an advertising campaign management system, a user address book, voting, built-in search, a link categorization and conversion system, a WYSIWYG editor, a template system, news management, XML-RPC API for integration with other systems, page caching and extensions collection. The project code is written in PHP and distributed under the GPLv2 license.
Key changes in the new version:
- Implemented a new bot protection plugin (Proof-of-Work CAPTCHA), which does not depend on third-party APIs and performs verification through background mathematical calculations (searching hashes), invisible to the user. The implementation is based on the altcha library.
- Implemented a visual workflow editor (Workflow), displaying the material approval process in the form of an interactive graph and allowing you to manage the passage of material through reviewers, editors and proofreaders.
- Addedcustom media fields for selecting videos, audio files and documents (pdf, docx, etc.). Previously, the Media field allowed you to select only images.
