FBR has accused residents of Los Angeles of orchestrating a major cryptocurrency fraud scheme and engaging in corruption with local law enforcement officers. Adam Iza, also known as The Godfather and the mastermind behind the Zort investment platform, allegedly profited from cybercrime and evaded taxes amounting to tens of millions of dollars.
The Zort platform, promoted as a cutting-edge tool powered by artificial intelligence for cryptocurrency trading, ended up causing substantial losses to many investors, while Iza and his associate splurged on luxury purchases.
During the course of the investigation, the FBI discovered that Iza had been bribing several serving deputies of the Los Angeles Police Department (LASD). These corrupted officers provided various illegal services to Iza, including espionage, extortion, and intimidation of his rivals, in exchange for hefty sums of money. For instance, in January 2022, Iza used his connections within the police force to unlawfully obtain information about the whereabouts of one of his victims’ phones.
One of Iza’s primary targets was Enzo Zhekoki, an “actor” who had previously been assaulted and tried to be robbed. In a reported incident from March 2022, three individuals broke into Zhekoki’s residence in an attempt to access his cryptocurrency holdings. Zhekoki retaliated by opening fire and scaring off the intruders. Subsequently, Iza and his affiliated police officers tried to kidnap and intimidate Zhekoki, but he managed to evade the assault and alert the authorities.
The complaint also mentions Iza’s former girlfriend, Iris Au, who aided him in managing his illicit business operations and reportedly used millions of dollars from Zort investments for personal gain. Au later filed a lawsuit against Iza, accusing him of stealing a laptop from her.
The investigation further uncovered threats made by Troy Woody Jr., currently serving time in a Philippine prison for murder. Woody, along with his accomplice Mir Islam (known as “Joshth
