Shotstars 4.7 has been updated to provide users with enhanced tracking capabilities for the movement of stars in GitHub projects. The tool allows users to monitor the disappearance and appearance of “stars” for their projects, filling the gap left by GitHub’s default capabilities which only allow users to track the addition of stars to their projects. The project is written in Python and is distributed under the license GPLv3+.
The main changes in this update include:
- A new histogram called “Star hour” has been added.
- A new histogram has been added showing the “Cumulative set of stars by day of the week.”
- A new metric has been added to the command-line interface (CLI) to determine the “most successful/worst day of the week.”
- Interest calculation has been added to all histograms.
- New banners have been added to the CLI, along with a hidden Easter egg in ShOTSTARS.
- A new metric called “The main programming language of the repository” has been introduced, which uses HTML paces with digital painting.
- HTML reports are now generated immediately after each scan of the repository, regardless of star movements.
- Statistics on tensions in the text have been added to the CLI.
- Descriptions and examples of all metrics have been provided.
- Precompiled packages that do not require Python and dependencies are now available for GNU/Linux, Windows, and Android.
