After a year and a half of development presented the release of the distribution OpenMandriva LX 6.0 . The project is developing community forces after Mandriva S.A. transferred the project control to the hands of the non -profit organization “Openmandriva Association”.

To download offers live assembly for the architecture of x86_64 (full 3.2 GB, reduced 2.4 GB in options with x111111 and Wayland), GNOME (3.2 GB), Cosmic (3 GB), XFCE (2.5 GB) and LXQT (2.3 GB), as well as assembly for servers (1.6 GB). Both general assemblies for any X86_64 systems and assemblies with the inclusion of optimizations for AMD Ryzen, Threadripper and Epyc processors are available. For servers, an additional option for boards based on the ARM64 architecture is supplied. Users of the continuously updated OpenMandriva Rome branch, which provided access to the OpenMandriva LX 6 Novyevo branches, have already received all the necessary updates (the distribution is not required separately).

Unlike the desktop assembly, the server version is supplied not in ISO format, but in the form of a ready-made disk image suitable for launching in cloud systems and virtualization platforms. To enter the system, an “OMV” user with the “OMV” password was created, and the setting via Cloud-Init.

for installing the OpenMandriva Server on the USB Flash, load and run the instant “Install-Oopenmandriva”, to install the Openmandriva. The composition includes only a minimum set of packages, and typical server applications are proposed to be installed from repositories. In addition to x86_64 systems, server images are also formed for the architecture of Aarch64 (ARM64).

  • Updated for OpenMandriva, OM WelCOME, OM Control Center, Repository Selector (Repo-Piker), Update Configuration (Om-Update-Config).
