Apple Unveils Assistant Robots

In Apple laboratories, a new era of innovation is emerging as the company shifts its focus from the failed Apple Car project to the development of a home robot-companion. The engineers at Apple are now working on creating a project that has the potential to revolutionize our daily lives by incorporating technologies originally intended for the automotive industry.

According to Bloomberg, under the leadership of John Giannandrea, the head of the AI unit, as well as Matt Costello and Brian Lynch from the home-made department, Apple is actively working on two projects. These projects involve the development of physical devices and software based on AI, which are likely to be integrated with other Apple services and devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

One of the projects includes a robotic stand for a monitor that can track the user’s movements and respond to actions on the screen. For example, the monitor can nod in response to the nod of the person on a video call, creating the illusion of presence.

The second project is a larger-scale home robot that will serve as a companion to the owner. While the specific functions of this robot are still under consideration, the main goal is to assist with simple tasks or tasks that improve everyday life.

It is worth noting that companies like Amazon are also exploring home robotics, with products such as Echo and small robots on wheels with digital personalities that can even act as guards. While existing smart machines excel at basic household tasks, Apple’s entry into robotics could potentially bring a unique perspective to the field.
