The day after the publication of a Dutch weekly investigation in Groene Amsterdammer, reporting sexual assault and rape on young adolescents during the trips of bishop Timorais Carlos Belo in the 1980s and 1990s , supporting testimonies, the Vatican said Thursday, September 29, taking sanctions against him. Nobel Peace Prize in 1996, Mgr Belo is a figure in the struggle for freedom in Timor-Oriental.
