Roskosmos State Corporation continues operational monitoring of emergency situations around the world by means of the Russian orbital grouping. Over the past week, Russian data from about 796 thousand square meters has been transferred to the EMERCOM of Russia in the amount of about 796 thousand square meters. km, and in the International Charter on Space and Large Catastrophes – 22 thousand square meters. km.
In addition, as part of the monitoring of the flood and fire hazardous situation, Russian data of the remote sensing of the Earth in the amount of about 15 thousand square meters was transferred to representatives of regional authorities in the Russian Federation. km
From February 18 to 25, 2022, the following emergencies were monitored at the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia:
- Ice crossings in several regions of the Russian Federation;
- spill of diesel fuel in the Sakhalin region;
- Threat of flooding in the Republic of Khakassia;
- hydrological situation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
As part of the activities of the International Charter on Space and large catastrophes during the reporting period, the oil spill was monitored in Peru and flooding and landslide in Brazil. Based on media reports on natural and man-made catastrophes around the world, the space survey of sublopulations in the Krasnodar Territory and the consequences of the cyclone passage in New Zealand was planned.
Roskosmos State Corporation supports operational interaction with the EMERCOM of Russia for timely response to the occurrence of a flood and fire-hazardous situation and the implementation of space monitoring of the affected territories.
