India: development of a vaccine against Omikron-strain will be engaged in

Indian Pharmaceutical Company Gennova Biopharmaceuticals will create a vaccine from an oomicron strain of coronavirus infection. It is assumed that it will be ready in one or two months, writes Reuters with reference to sources.

After short testing, the drug can be used as a third booster dose of the vaccine from COVID-19. The first phases of the drug testing took place at the end of the 2021th. If the drug is approved, it will become the first Indian mRNA (matrix) vaccine adapted to the Omicron strain.

In India, the vaccination of the population was engaged on January 16 last year. According to official data, a dose of the drug received 92 percent of the country’s population.
