The singer Neil Young asked Spotify, in an open letter finally removed from his site, to delete his music from the streaming platform, accusing the misinformation on the CVIV-19 and the vaccines by the bias of popular and controversial podcasts Joe Rogan.

“I do this because Spotify diffuses false information about vaccines – potentially causing the death of those who believe in the misinformation they diffuse,” wrote the legendary Heart of Gold and Harvest Moon singer.

Young, 76, continues in this letter, which no longer appeared on the site of the singer but which was reported by that of the magazine Rolling Stone :

“I want you to know at Spotify today that I want all my music to be removed from their platform. They can have rogan or Young. Not both.”

Contact by the France-Presse agency, Spotify did not answer immediately. Tuesday, the music of the American-Canadian artist, whose last album, Barn, came out at the end of 2021, was still on the platform.

Theories of plot and misinformation

Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience”, accumulates millions of listening – he signed an estimated $ 100 million (88 million euros) with Spotify last year – but he is accused of being a platform that puts the theories of conspiracy and misinformation, especially on the CVIV-19.
