Japan: conducted tests of a new unmanned high-speed train

Japanese company East Japan Railway Company conducted the first tests of the unmanned high-speed train. It is reported by the Kyodo News Agency.

Test launch of the E7 series of 12 cars took place in the morning of November 17 at a 5-kilometer area. The cabin was in the case of unexpected situations. After he transferred control to automatic mode, the train successfully made a mileage without human intervention. During the test, the composition approached the maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour.

It is noted that the train stopped at 8 centimeters from the estimated stop location. However, experts noted that the permissible error is 50 centimeters.

The company noted that in the future they plan to conduct high-speed trains without drivers into operation against the background of lack of labor.

Earlier, Russian railways (RZD) called the timing of the launch of the drone electric trains “Swallow” at the Moscow Central Ring (MCC). Compositions plan to launch in 2024.
