The diplomat accused Washington in manipulation and disregard by real facts. According to him, a published document is a solid falsification, and the American side is guided by prejudice. “In fact, the largest source of danger for the whole world is the United States,” said Wenbin.
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that Beijing continues to adhere to a non-heating defense strategy. He added that the country’s nuclear arsenal is needed to ensure international security. “The Chinese atomic weapon does not threaten a single country of the world,” concluded Wenbin.
Earlier in the Pentagon in the framework of the annual report on the military power of the PRC for the American Congress, they stated that, thanks to its production potential, China is able to expand its arsenal to one thousand nuclear warheads. The US military noted that the current pace of development of the Chinese nuclear program exceeds the forecasts of the US Department of Defense, made in 2020.
